Amidst the chaos of the streets, a pit bull named Tippi has found refuge, thanks to the swift response of law enforcement in St. Louis, Missouri. Stray Rescue of St. Louis took to Facebook to share her heartbreaking journey after the police brought her to their shelter, wounded and bleeding.
Describing the harrowing moment, Stray Rescue stated, “The police arrived with sirens roaring, having heard gunshots nearby. They discovered Tippi, severely injured, and rushed her here, carrying her inside (a huge thank you to Officer Leahey and his team, our heroes).”
Even in pain, Tippi greeted her rescuers with a wagging tail as they brought her into the examination area. “She’s incredibly brave,” noted one of the rescuers attending to her.
A touching video captured the moment as the staff gathered around Tippi, providing her with reassurance. Despite her injuries, Tippi showered them with affection, giving soft kisses until the medication began to take effect.
After a thorough examination, the team breathed a sigh of relief, discovering that the bullet had not caused any serious harm. “She’s one fortunate pup – it seems no bones are broken, and her vital organs are intact,” they reported.
The team at Tippi’s rescue was overwhelmed with emotion as they tended to her wounds. “It’s beyond comprehension how someone could commit such a cowardly act,” they expressed. “Tippi is fortunate that the shot landed where it did, just in her skin, sparing her vital organs and bones. We’re still in disbelief.”
Urgently, Tippi was set for surgery, and within hours, the rescuers proudly shared images of the bullet they extracted, noting that her ear was being stitched up.
